IOWA CITY (AP) - The University of Iowa will ask the Board of Regents to approve a name for a proposed campus facility.
What is the name? Don't ask.
Iowa spokesman Tom Moore would only say it would be discussed at the regents meeting Thursday.
The school has had trouble before with a building name, when it wanted to rename its College of Public Health after health insurance company Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield. After some objected, Wellmark withdrew a $15 million pledge to the college.
Iowa State is also requesting to name a building, but it's not hiding the name. It wants to rename its basketball practice facility the Sukup Basketball Complex, honoring donors Eugene and Mary Sukup.
