Letter: If political tables were turned

In response to the Nov. 25 letter 'What if the political tables were turned?”:
My first guess is that Donald Trump supporters would feel not only the same way Hillary Clinton supporters are feeling: disappointed and let down, they would claim the election was rigged. The difference would be in the way they would act. Not just with sign-carrying, chanting marches, but perhaps with guns and baseball bats, spitting on minority college students which they did as students walked to class past the arena during a rally. Not to mention the incident of nasty language aimed at Clinton supporters on Delta Air Lines.
Then, after Trump supporters adjusted to Clinton's win, some might remember that in other countries and in other times women have successfully governed. Clinton's cabinet, the most able for each position, would contrast Trump's selection of those who are most loyal, have the most money, appear set on weakening the department they serve.
They would watch as Clinton works to improve the lives of children and working families, make higher education accessible to all, recognize potential global problems and be able to communicate with international leaders. She would increase infrastructure investment and institute programs to retrain those now working in polluting energy sources to serve in renewable energy and climate change jobs. And she would raise taxes on high-income earners and the very wealthy.
Perhaps the greatest difference would be that people of all ethnic minorities, handicaps, sexual orientations, and religions would feel secure.
