Big inning propels Kernels to win at Michigan
Cedar Rapids put a five-spot on the board in the fifth inning and made it stand up Friday night for a 5-3 victory of West Michigan at Fifth Third Ballpark.
A two-run single by Angel Castillo and three West Michigan errors figured heavily in that Kernels fifth. Matt Crawford also singled in a run for the Kernels, who had just three singles in the inning.
The teams play again Saturday at 6 p.m.
