Area players to watch for the 2011 softball season:

P KELSEY LOUGH, soph., Jesup -- Posted a 27-18 record with a 2.01 ERA. Struck out 210 batters and walked 67 in 278 innings. Batted .220 with 20 RBIs. Class 2A third-team all-stater.

P JACQUELINE NAEVE, jr., Alburnett -- Posted a 20-6 record with a 1.80 ERA. Struck out 106 batters and walked 47 in 183 innings. Batted .318 with 29 RBIs. Class 1A third-team all-stater.

P HANNAH PETERSEN, jr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson -- Posted a 17-5 record with a 1.28 ERA. Struck out 193 batters and walked 42 in 142 innings. Batted .296 with 32 runs and 24 RBIs. Class 4A second-team all-stater.

C MICAH WIEDITZ, sr., Mount Vernon -- Batted .338 with 12 doubles and 27 RBIs.

IF JULIA HUNTER, sr., Iowa City Regina -- Batted .394 with 15 doubles, 6 home runs, 32 runs and 30 RBIs. Class 2A first-team all-stater.

IF TATUM KLEIN, jr., Iowa City West -- Batted .454 with 9 doubles and 7 triples, scored 45 runs and stole 23 bases. Class 4A second-team all-stater.

IF TYLER SAMPSON, sr., Cedar Rapids Xavier -- Batted .446 with 12 doubles and 7 home runs. Scored 40 runs and drove in 38. Class 4A second-team all-stater.

IF CAITLIN WNEK, jr., Clear Creek Amana -- Batted .557 with 29 doubles. Scored 50 runs and collected 91 RBIs. Stole 24 bases. Class 3A first-team all-stater.

OF SHELBY CRIST, sr., Cedar Rapids Prairie -- Batted .331 and scored 28 runs with 17 stolen bases. Class 4A third-team all-stater.

OF JODI SCHOTT, soph., Valley Community -- Batted .491 with 7 doubles. Scored 30 runs and drove in 19. Class 1A third-team all-stater.

OF FRAN STRUB, jr., Clear Creek Amana -- Batted .548 with 18 doubles and 18 triples. Scored 80 runs and drove in 72. Stole 34 bases. Class 3A first-team all-stater.

UT JENNA HERMSEN, sr., West Delaware -- Batted .393 with 17 doubles. Scored 41 runs and collected 25 RBIs. Drew 18 walks. Compiled 4-3 pitching record with 17 saves. Class 3A second-team all-stater.

UT LAURYNN LAMMERS, sr., West Delaware -- Posted a 27-7 pitching record with a 1.75 ERA. Struck out 109 batters and walked 21 in 159 2/3 innings. Batted .190. Class 3A second-team all-stater.
