Letter: Does paying taxes make me ‘stupid’?

As I sit here with a desk full of 2016 paperwork and the latest update for TurboTax software, I am sharing some empathy for the millions who felt the unpleasant sting of being referred to as 'deplorables.”
Accepting our president's statement that he was 'smart” to avoid payment of taxes, I am left with the following conclusion.
Faced with this yearly monumental task and with April 15 gaining on me, I am suddenly overwhelmed by the sting of the implication that as a taxpaying citizen I just might be considered by some as being 'stupid.”
