Letter: Legalize medical cannabis for those in need

Why are we in Iowa not helping individuals, especially children, but vets as well and others who suffer from multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and epilepsy when many other states have passed legislations to approve use of medical cannabis instead of relying on chemotherapy which can have some horrific side effects?
I am not suggesting we do what Colorado has done and legalize this drug for recreational use, but make it an option for those in real need. Seems to me the right thing to do. Write your state representatives.
