Brennan, Maurice 'Joe'

Maurice “Joe” Brennan, 73, of Iowa City, died peacefully Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father John Spiegel officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Arlene; their son, Terry (Susan) Brennan of Tonka Bay, Minn.; two grandsons, Kieran Joseph Brennan and Dillon James Brennan; three brothers, Bill (Lorna) Brennan of Emmetsburg, Chuck (Mary) Brennan of Kansas City, Kan., and Don (Katie) Brennan of Red Oak; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dolores (Robert) Tanner of Clear Lake, Juanita Helmke, Ronald (Sandi) Chapman and Marietta (Michael) Flannegan, all of Emmetsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Foundation for the College of Dentistry, Mercy Hospital Foundation for Diabetes Education or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
