Deanna Joy Daniels, 78, of North Liberty, went to be with our Lord on March 24, 2017, with her family at her side.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Iowa City Church of Christ, with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service.
Memorial donations can be made in her memory to Iowa City Church of Christ.

Deanna Joy Merrifield was born June 23, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Jensen) Merrifield. Following graduation from Iowa City High School in 1957, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy. On Feb. 7, 1959, she married Melvin Dean Daniels in Dayton, Ohio. For over 35 years she worked at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, with most of these years in the Cardiology Department as EKG supervisor.
Deanna's faith in her Lord was paramount to her life. She was a strong and active member of Iowa City Church of Christ for many years.
She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and spending time with her family. After her retirement from the hospital, she enjoyed working at the 100 Acre Woods Daycare.
Her family includes her husband, Melvin; their children, Michael D. Daniels (Deborah), Julie A. Webster (William) and Richard L. Daniels (Tonya); eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Williams (Wayne) and Sandra Holdiman; and a brother, David Merrifield (Lynn).
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Ethel Baxter; brother, Donald Merrifield; granddaughter, Robyn K. Daniels; and aunt, Gladys Merrifield.
