Redmond, Madonna Mary

Madonna Mary Redmond, 86, of Cascade, formerly of Bernard, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 5:18 p.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade. Friends and relatives of Madonna may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. and CDA rosary at 4:30 p.m. Services for Madonna will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cascade.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eugene Redmond of Cascade; six children, Marian (George) Karr of Iowa City, Marna (Matt) Heitz of Farley, Mark (Monica) Redmond and Mike (Deb) Redmond, both of Bernard, Pat (Sandie) Redmond of Anamosa and Joe (Lori) Redmond of Bernard; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Murilla Gehl and Marie (Bill) Kivlahan, both of Cascade; two sisters-in-law, Rita Martin of Bernard and Kathleen Martin of Cedar Rapids; and five brothers- and sisters-in-law, Barb Martin and Ed (Alice) Redmond, both of Anamosa, Joan (Bob) Deucker of Flint, Mich., Rita Chapman of Hopkinton and Bob (Pat) Redmond of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill and Joe Martin; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
