Trimble, Donna Jean 'Steffa'

Donna Jean “Steffa” Trimble of Marengo, died Nov. 12, 2013, surrounded by family members, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, after a sudden illness.

Donna was born Dec. 23, 1929, to Kenneth and Pauline Patterson Steffa in Fort Madison, Iowa. She spent her earlier years and graduated from high school in Dallas City, Ill. She spent the summers in Marengo with her grandmother, Ida Schafbuch Steffa, and great-uncle, Chris “Buck” Schafbuch.

She married Alvin Eugene “Gene” Trimble on Dec. 23, 1947, in Fort Madison.

She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many who knew her.

She is survived by her three sons, Steve and Russell of Marengo and Mike of Belle Plaine; daughter-in-law, Candice Trimble Paulson of Springville; nephew, Raymond Trimble of Wildwood, Mo.; and granddaughters, Brandi Scafe of Overland Park, Kan., and Calista Jean Trimble of Marengo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eldest son, Kenneth.

There will be no formal memorial service or visitation. Graveside services will be in the spring of 2014; family and friends will be notified.

Memorials may be directed to the Belle Plaine and Marengo Ambulance Fund.
