Ronald Dvorak, 75, of Clutier, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer with Father Michael Hutchison as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in rural Clutier. Visitation will be held Monday, April 2, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Ronald was born on Nov. 4, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Julia (Kuchynka) Dvorak.
He lived all his life in the Clutier community, graduating from Clutier High School with the Class of 1960.
Ronald served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966.
On June 25, 1966, he was united in marriage to Linda Turner at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clutier. Ron worked 47 years for Clutier Grain and Feed, then Tama-Benton Co-op, retiring in 2009. He then worked summers for Myers Agri-Air at the Traer airport from 2012 to 2016. Ron was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer, the Catholic Order of Foresters and American Legion Post 453 of Clutier. He was a past Clutier Fire Department volunteer.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda; four sons, Tom (Dori) Dvorak of Clutier, Tim of Ruckersville, Va., Terry (Becky) of Norwalk and Travis (Kelley) of Jefferson; one daughter, Janel (B.J.) Ruzicka of La Porte City; 13 grandchildren; one foreign exchange granddaughter; one brother, Larry Dvorak of Clutier; one sister, Becky Swierz of Evanston, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents; and one sister, Lori Dvorak in 2016.
A memorial fund has been established.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
