Stand and show respect for U.S. flag

As the summer approaches and parades become part of your summer, please remember to show proper respect to our nation's colors.
As adults, we can be wonderful role models to our children and to others if we stand and remove our hats as flags are presented. I have witnessed many people with stunned expressions on their faces when others stand at attention, and I have witnessed the wonderful sound of clapping as our local American Legions present the U.S. flag. Many have said 'thank you” as they are marching.
I ask of you this one simple thing when you attend Memorial Day services, July Fourth parades and hometown celebrations: Stand, show respect, say 'thank you,” and have your children and those around you do the same.
