Letter: U.S. was founded as a republic

I have heard that, in America, driving is a privilege and that our Constitution requires a separate of church and state. I strongly disagree with both.

We must understand that legislative history and our laws can be reviewed by the Congressional Research Service. We need for our representatives to request it. Some will provide a copy to you, if you request it.

We are not intended to be a democracy. We are a nation of individuals ('We the people”); a republic. Our laws are to prevent us from injuring others.

It was required that you be a Christian in order to serve in the Confederacy. These may be the people that attended the convention to create the United States.

What was the decision of the court that was quoted in order to place the words 'one nation, under God” in our Pledge of Allegiance?

What is the court of equity? Some states have abolished the court of equity. Is that unconstitutional?

'The judicial power shall extend to all cases, in law and equity,” Article III, Section 2, U.S. Constitution.
