Ted Vern Heck, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories State Room.
Ted was born Jan. 7, 1949, the son of Lester and Viola (Seiler) Heck in Cedar Rapids. On April 28, 1973, he was united in marriage with Reana Caldwell.
He enjoyed camping, bowling and playing cards. Ted was an avid sports fan. Some of his favorite teams include the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes.
More than anything, Ted loved his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Reana; two children, Dawn (Bryan) Long and Steven (Kathleen) Heck; four grandchildren, Brittany, Scarlett, Dylan and Cameron; three sisters, Bonnie Heitzman, Barbara Bartosh and Judy Bertling; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Lisa Dawn; brother, Larry; and three brothers-in-law.
