Melvin Ejim signs with Orlando Magic

Former Iowa State player Melvin Ejim was added to the Orlando Magic's training camp roster Tuesday.
Ejim signed a partially guaranteed contract with the NBA team. He played last season for Virtus Roma in Italy, then played for Orlando in the NBA Summer League where he averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 rebounds.
He then played for Canada this summer in the Pan American Games.
Ejim wasn't drafted in 2014 after a season in which he was voted the Big 12 Conference's Player of the Year.
The strongest likelihood is that Orlando places Ejim in Erie of the NBA D-League for a season and keeps his NBA rights.
Another former Cyclone, guard Chris Babb, was part of a trade the Boston Celtics made with the world-champion Golden State Warriors last month. Babb played in 14 games with Boston in 2013-14, and spent all of last season with Boston's D-League affiliate in Maine.
