Kernels' Hot Stove Banquet set for January 13

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced Tuesday that their 18th-annual Hot Stove Banquet will be held Monday, Jan. 13, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids.
The banquet will include live and silent auctions of sports memorabilia and other items and the appearance of the Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan. Twins play-by-play television broadcaster Dick Bremer will emcee the event.
Twins players and coaches also will be in attendance but have not yet been selected.
This year's Cedar Rapids Professional Baseball Hall of Fame class also will officially be inducted: Mike Trout, Chris Sabo, Verna Nance, Ron Gonder and Tom Barbee. Trout will not be in attendance, while Sabo's appearance has not been officially confirmed or denied, yet.
Proceeds from the banquet will go to the Kernels Foundation. Tickets go on sale Monday, Dec. 2, and are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $350.
