Georgia Papacek Ryan, 88, of Lowell, Idaho, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino, Idaho.
Georgia was born Aug. 9, 1929, to Joseph and Anna Dolezal Papacek, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a young girl, she was very active in several organizations. She was a member of Sokol Cedar Rapids, ZCBJ and CSPS. She graduated from high school in Marion, Iowa, in 1947. On March 6, 1949, she married Harlan LeRoy Ryan.
Georgia worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a customer service representative and was an activity director for Citadel Care Center in the 1980s in Mesa, Ariz. Georgia was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs. In the '90s, Georgia was a national bowling champion.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Ryan; a sister, Anna Mae Carson; her grandson, Kurt Peterson; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Harlan LeRoy Ryan of Lowell; a son, Steven (Ann) Ryan of Lowell; daughter, Pamela (Jerry) Peterson of Mesa; her grandchildren, Nicole Brue, Charles (Tracy) Peterson, Courtney (Wes) Davenport, Lee Ryan of Pullman, Quinton Ryan of Lewiston, Stephanie Ryan of Clarkston and Scott Ryan of Ankeny; daughter-in-law, Jill Ryan; and 13 great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no formal service.
She was loved and will be missed by all her family and friends.
