Benton County man reported missing

The Benton County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating John S, Skalsky Jr., missing since Saturday afternoon.

Skalsky, 22, told relatives about 7:30 p.m. Saturday he was catching a ride with an acquaintance from Blairstown to Norway but never arrived at his destination. He'd earlier told family members he was going to walk between the two towns, possibly along the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

Air and ground searches have failed to turn up any sign of Skalsky, Sheriff Randall Forsyth said.

Skalsky is white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighs about 160 pounds. He has very short brown hair, brown eyes, and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing bluejeans, a gray sweat shirt, black boots, and a black leather jacket.

Anyone with information on Skalsky's whereabouts is asked to call the Benton County Sheriff's Office at (319) 472-2337.
