Hasek, Anna M.
Anna M. Hasek, 86, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at her home after a long illness. Private graveside service: Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Per Anna's request there will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Connie); four daughters, Kathy (Mike) Couser, Nancy Burch and Peggy Hartman, all of Cedar Rapids, and Linda (Roger) Wyatt of Hiawatha; a brother, John (Mary Ann) Earsa of Fairfax; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; a brother, Bill Earsa; and a sister, Helen Carlson.
Anna was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Fairfax, the daughter of Charles and Francis Shotola Earsa. She married Jerry A. Hasek on Sept. 24, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. Jerry passed away in 1993.
Anna worked as a cashier at Hy-Vee and retired from there after more than 30 years of service. She did volunteer work at the Hiawatha Care Center, enjoyed going to the casino with family and friends and had traveled all over the world.
Anna was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
