Wayfinding Ahead

Jul. 13, 2010 12:06 pm
Cedar Rapids Medical District consultant John Helbling sent out a press release today on two public informational meetings on the project set for August.
You may need a Consultant-to-English dictionary to navigate the first graph:
CEDAR RAPIDS – The Medical District Steering Team, in conjunction with the developers of the Medical Mall are seeking input from Medical District property owners and Cedar Rapids residents about the proposed visioning for the district, the district's current and future circulation and wayfinding needs.
August is the perfect month for visioning, circulating and wayfinding. I will effort a strategic plan to attend the input session, as soon as I check with my stakeholders.
I might have tried, "Hey, people, we'd like to plop a big medical mall in the middle of Second Avenue SE. We think it's a great idea. If you have some sort of opinion on that, we'll give you two chances next month to vent."
That is why I have no future in the big time consulting game.
The meetings will be in the Crowne Plaza ballroom on Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 4-7 p.m. with a presentation at 5:15 p.m., and Thursday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with a presentation at 11:30 a.m.
