Weaver, Christine Susan
Christine Susan Weaver, 72, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held at Linwood Cemetery.
Christine is survived by children, Kimberly (Bill) Merriman of Carroll, Ohio, Robert (Dawn) DeGroft of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Emily Weaver of Kansas; sister, Kathleen (Rex) Bentzinger of Coralville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Christine Smith was born June 26, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Earl Raymond and Selma (Samuelson) Smith. She married Dallas Weaver in Arkansas, who preceded her in death in 1997. Christine worked as a customer service representative for Alliant Energy for a number of years before she retired.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Memorials may be sent in her name to First Lutheran Church.
