Kristy Ann Armstrong, 57, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at her residence of a sudden illness. Public Graveside Services, conducted by the Rev.
Douglas Woltemath. will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Atkins, The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 25, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins.
Kristy was born Oct. 30, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, to Lenard J. and Alice (Deklotz) Armstrong and graduated from Benton Community High School in 1974. She received an Associate Degree from A.I.B. in Des Moines, and a Bachelor of Business Degree from Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids. She was employed as a fiscal administrator at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.
Kristy was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sisters, Kim (Gary) Spiess of Lisbon, and Kay (Ed) Bartholomew of Montrose; her nieces and nephew, Nicole and Allison Spiess, Jenny (Tony) Frey and Megan and Bryce Bartholomew; and her great-niece and nephews, Brittany, Benton and Brayton Frey.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
