Cunningham, (Charles) C. Keith
IOWA CITY - (Charles) C. Keith Cunningham, 59, of 1970 Delwood Dr., Iowa City, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, from complications of a brain tumor. Keith's courageous battle began in October 2003. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at Grace Fellowship Church, 3980 Poweshiek St. SE (south of Iowa City, off of Oak Crest Hill Road). The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Keith chose to be cremated following the service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Keith Cunningham Memorial Fund.
He was born Jan. 21, 1951, in Fairfield, Ill.,, the youngest son of Cecil and Virgie (Shaw) Cunningham. He graduated from Western Military Academy, Alton, Ill., on June 1, 1969. He was a proud lifetime member of the Iowa City Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1096 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 945 and Eagle Riders, Iowa City. Keith was employed at the University of Iowa Parking and Transportation Department.
Keith will be remembered for his love for his family and friends, wife Sharon and his love for the Lord. He believed faith was a gift of God that was promised to each and every one of us.
“And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7
Above all, his big heart, beautiful eyes, wonderful personality and contagious smile attracted people to him and held spending time with his family and friends as a top priority in his life.
Keith is remembered with love by his wife, Sharon, Iowa City; brothers, Stan (Deborah) Cunningham, New Braunfels, Texas, and Craig (Lynn) Cunningham, Austin, Texas; sons, Christopher, St. Louis, Mo., Patrick (Daphne), Warrensburg, Mo., Matthew (Jamie), Middleburg, Fla., and Shane (Sasha), Iowa City; grandchildren, Curran, Miranda, Brittany, Jonah, George and Jordyn; and special aunts, uncles and cousins. Everyone will miss him so very much.
