Ellis, Mae Alice (Horak)
Mae Alice (Horak) Ellis, 92, of ManorCare, died there peacefully on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include two nieces, Susan (Frank) Fredrickson of Minnetonka, Minn., and Sally (Tom) Hundemer of Shreveport, La.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Marian Horak.
Mae Alice was born May 2, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Kun) Horak. She married Floyd A. Ellis on Aug. 3, 1940, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1997. Mae Alice was a secretary at Mutual Fire and Auto Insurance, retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She enjoyed sewing, taking care of her home and especially the time spent with her beloved family.
Memorial donations maybe given to Camp Courageous.
