Man found dead after standoff at Dubuque home

Authorities say a wanted man has died after a standoff of more than seven hours at his home in Dubuque.
Police say the man was wanted on five arrest warrants. Officers went to his home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. He tried to flee but remained inside the home after he saw police had surrounded it.
Neighbors were evacuated but no shots were reported.
Police say the man was found dead inside when officers broke in around 12:45 a.m. Sunday. Police say it appears he shot himself.
His name isn't being released until relatives have been notified about his death.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident.
