'On The Record' podcast: Previewing the Wine Gala and Auction, a benefit for the Horizons Survivor's Program
Trish Mehaffey Oct. 7, 2016 2:57 pm
This week's On the Record highlights the Horizons Survivor's Program that helps families of homicide, vehicular homicide and other violent crimes in 14 Iowa counties. The program provides short and long term needs, such as making referrals for counseling and supporting the family through court hearings and during the trials.
The annual program's fundraiser, which is a Wine Gala and Auction this year, will be at the African-American Museum on Oct. 15.
My guests today are Penny Galvin, victim advocate with Horizons; B.J. Franklin, Horizons program coordinator for northern counties; Anastasia Wilson, victim/witness coordinator with the Linn County Attorney's Office and Survivor's program fundraiser committee member; and Amy Schufloffel, co-chair of the program's committee.
On the Record, a podcast covering crime, courts and other legal topics, is hosted by Trish Mehaffey and produced by Richard Pratt.
