Fevold, Joseph Severin
Joseph Severin Fevold, 83, passed away Oct. 10, 2012, at Living Center East nursing home. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ardeth Fevold of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Catherine Jo (Dan) Johnson of Lansing, Mich., and Rebecca Lynn (Randy) Kraft of Indianola, Iowa; three grandchildren, Lara Johnson, Lindsey and Tanner Kraft; and a brother, Richard (Judy) Fevold of Bismarck, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene and Norman Fevold; one sister, Doris Mikelson; and a granddaughter, Signey Johnson.
Joseph Severin Fevold was born May 13, 1929, in Bismarck, N.D., the son of Joseph and Clarabelle Lysne Fevold. After high school, Joseph earned his bachelor's degree from St. Olaf Collage in Northfield, Minn. Joseph served his country proudly in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He was united in marriage to Ardeth Ann Nordrum on Oct. 16, 1953, in Bismarck, N.D. Joseph worked as vice president at Dakota Fire Insurance Co., Midland Union Insurance Co., and Economy Fire and Casualty Co. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the American Legion.
Joseph enjoyed being with his family, woodcarving, golf, hunting, cooking, photography, and camping.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Instead of flowers, please direct all memorials to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Living Center East nursing home, Dr. John Roof and staff and the Rev. Phil Jorgensen.
