Obama standing up for health care
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 7, 2013 1:26 pm
The editorial cartoon on Dec. 2 implying a relationship between the Affordable Care Act and “Death Panels for Granny” was as irresponsible and insidious as the original death panel comments uttered by Sen. Chuck Grassley and then Gov. Sarah Palin.
With the amount of piling-on of Obama-bashing taking place in The Gazette, I am compelled to stand up and say that I admire our president's determination to improve the health care system, his courage in negotiating for peace rather than viewing military solutions as preferred, and the fact that he is on the correct side of important social issues.
Let us not forget
that Obama carried Iowa in 2008 and 2012, and his support should not be allowed to be drowned out by a vocal minority.
