Strickler, Grace M.
Grace M. Strickler, 100, of Kalona, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the Pleasantview Home following a life filled with love and service. A celebration of life will be held Monday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kalona United Methodist Church, with Pastors Gerry Kahler and David L. Yoder officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Hill Cemetery, Kalona. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.
Grace Marie Strickler was born Feb. 27, 1911, in Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of John and Julia (Barger) Grecian. She graduated from Kalona High School in 1929. In June 1930, she was united in marriage to Lovell Strickler in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Grout of Kalona; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Ervin Grecian; and three infant sisters.
A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona United Methodist Church and Pleasantview Home.
