Lehmkuhl, Ethelyn D.
Ethelyn D. Lehmkuhl, 89, of Marion, formerly of Fairbank, died Saturday, August 21, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. There will be no services. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank. Inurnment: Union Mound Cemetery, Sumner, Iowa.
Survivors include a son, Rande (Lora) Lehmkuhl of Marion; and five grandchildren, Jack, Steven, Meranda, Lexi and Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert (Webb) Lehmkuhl on Nov. 7, 1974; her parents; one brother, David; and one sister, Zona.
Ethelyn was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Sumner, Iowa, to Ozro and Ella Bowers Littell. She married Wilbert (Webb) Lehmkuhl on June 13, 1942, in San Diego, Calif. She was a teacher, she taught at Fairbank Elementary and then Dunkerton Junior High. She and her husband operated Lehmkuhl Hardware in Fairbank. After retiring from teaching, she played the piano for 19 years at VonMaur in College Square Mall, Cedar Falls.
