Tim A. Vargason, 56, died Monday, May 15, 2017, at his home following a sudden illness.
A memorial gathering will be held in late June with the time and place to be announced.
Tim was born Aug. 25, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, the son of James and Margaret Anderson Vargason.
He was employed at City Carton Recycling, now Republic Services, for 40 years.
Tim is survived by his mother, Margaret of Donna, Texas; his brother, Terry of Iowa City; and two sisters, Kathy (David) Graham of Marion and Ann (Ken) Retzinger of Wilmette, Ill.
Tim was preceded in death by his father.
