DECORAH - The popular Decorah Eagle Cam that captured the attention of millions of Internet fans is being disconnected for the year.
The three bald eagle chicks that hatched in early April have left the nest but are still in the area, and organizers are looking ahead to next season. Bob Anderson of the Raptor Resource Project said he hopes to improve the video image.
Anderson said he's still overwhelmed that the eagle cam had 160 million hits. He has filmed eagles in the Decorah nest for five years, but this was the first time the footage was broadcast 24 hours a day.
