Joan Kay Tharp, 69, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at Willow Gardens.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service following at 2 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Joan is survived by her husband, Donnie Tharp; sons, Donald Tharp, Jerry Tharp and Glen Tharp; daughters, Katherine Huber, Joann (Chris) Zobac and Deb Tharp; grandchildren, Mathew, Megan, Emma, Abby, Melissa, Zach and Claria; brothers, Tom and Harvey; sister, Marilyn; sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
Joan was born on Feb. 4, 1946, to Fred and Floria (Heck) LaGrange. She married Donnie Tharp on May 27, 1973, and was employed at Cooper's Mill and St. Lukes Living Center West. She enjoyed walking and doing puzzles. Joan was considered the "puzzle champion" at Willow Gardens, where she had lots of friends and was loved by everyone. In her younger days, she enjoyed fishing.
