Man hit with liquor bottle in Iowa City assault
Iowa City police found a man bleeding from a head wound after responding to a report of a fight at an apartment building early Saturday morning.
Police say three men entered an apartment in the 1900 block of Broadway Street at 1:56 a.m. today, and according to witnesses, one of the men was armed with a knife.
Police say two of the men forced their way into a bedroom, where the victim had been asleep, and one of them struck the victim in the head with a liquor bottle, causing the bottle to shatter.
The victim was taken to University Hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
