Alan Francis is in the Guinness Book of World Records with 15 World Championships and enters the 2010 National Horseshoe Pitchers Association World Tournament at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena July 26-Aug. 7 as the defending champion. Among his other accomplishments is his 90.5 ringer percentage, six perfect games in the event and 419.5 wins in 22 appearances in the World tournament.
Last year, Francis topped Brian Simmons of Vermont. We could be in store for a rematch in this year's championship. Take a look at what fans can expect when the two top pitchers when everything is at "stake". :)
Francis won the men's open division, 40-37, throwing one more ringer than Simmons (126-125).
