Steuber, Kathryn Ann
CEDAR RAPIDS - Kathryn Ann Steuber, 81, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, from complications following surgery. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Jonathan Offt. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her brothers, Robert F. Steuber and Donald H. (Eileen) Steuber, both of Cedar Rapids; nephew, Robert J. Steuber, and his children, Tressa and Tyler, all of Johnston; niece, K. Renee (Al) Steuber-Hudson of Martelle; and aunt, Elsie Murrish of Kelseyville, Calif.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents.
Born Jan. 9, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Kathryn was the daughter of Fred H. and Anna M. (Krahling) Steuber. Kathryn was a 1946 graduate of Roosevelt High School. For 38 years she worked for Collins Radio, retiring in 1990.
Kathryn's joys were attending art events in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area, traveling the world, her Collins retirement luncheon group, and tending her flowers. She was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, an avid Hawkeye fan and a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1363 First Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405 or to any Cedar Rapids arts venue.
