Milton L. Herren, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at his home in Lisbon. Services, with military honors, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. A visita-
tion will be Wednesday, March 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children: son, Ben (Patricia) Herren of Kihei, Hawaii; daughter, Patrice Herren of Lisbon; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Benhard and Minnie; his wife, Martha; daughter, Mary (Missy); sisters, Lorene Hartgrave, Velma Swanson, Louella Parker and Lucile Larson; and his brothers, Clarence, Vernon, Earl, Ervin and Melvin Herren.
He was born Jan. 29, 1927, to Bernard and Minnie Harms Herren in Millersburg, Iowa. Milton married Martha Farmer on June 26, 1955, in Marion.
Milton and his wife, Martha, owned and operated Briner's Grocery and also worked in the floor covering business for many years. He served in the Korean War and was a POW for 27 months.
Milton was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He has left us with wonderful memories and we feel blessed to have had him in our lives.
