Marlo R. Ruegsegger died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at his home in Washington.
He was born June 2, 1947, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Leo and Mary (Miller) Ruegsegger. He grew up in rural Wellman and graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1966. Marlo worked at Moore Business Forms and R.R. Donnelley for 40 years, retiring in 2008. He lived in Kalona for five years before moving to Washington in 2013.
Marlo participated in Civil War re-enactments, enjoyed traveling, reading and going down for morning coffee at Westside Petro. He also restored and enjoyed driving his dad's 1951 Chevy pickup.
Marlo is survived by a sister, Bonnie (Bill) Swift of Washington; a brother, Gordon (special friend Kathy Landers) Ruegsegger of Walford; three nieces, Joni Luke, Teri Wilkerinson and Connie Melsha; and three nephews, Randy Swift, Bret Swift and Frank Ruegsegger.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Monday, March 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. There will be no funeral service. Burial will be at a later date in the South English Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for the American Heart Association.
