Knocking on doors for Amy Nielsen's mayoral campaign in North Liberty confirms my belief that she will bring the fresh perspective we need in the mayor's chair.
I've learned that my neighbors and I want more information about new construction and housing developments - before they are approved. Many families don't have time to attend Tuesday night council meetings or watch them on TV. Nielsen will address this with town hall meetings, mayor's office hours, and share information on social networks to seek our input before key issues are decided.
My neighbors and I want more entertainment offered in North Liberty so we don't have to leave town: more breakfast options, a bowling alley, a dog park, a small movie theater. Nielsen pledges to work to bring those kinds of businesses and activities to our town.
Please join me in voting for Nielsen in the upcoming election. She will work to bring our voices to the table when important decisions are at stake. Learn more about Nielsen at the League of Women Voters' candidate forum 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the North Liberty City Council Chambers or visit her website at amynielsenformayor.com.
