Bozek, Florence E.
Florence E. Bozek, 91, died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Crestview Care Center in West Branch. Visitation will be Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at Lensing Oak Hill Funeral Service, Coralville. Family committal services will be held at Lone Tree Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospital Foundation for the Dr. T.T. Bozek Friend of Nursing Endowment or to Iowa City Hospice.
Florence was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Lone Tree, the daughter of Harry and Gertrude (Shibley) Hamilton. She was a graduate of Lone Tree High School and received a bachelor's degree in home economics from the University of Iowa. Florence married Dr. Thaddeus T. Bozek on June 24, 1944, in Lone Tree. Dr. Bozek died in 2008.
Florence was a member of the Pilots Club and a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and liked to sew and cook. Most important to Florence was caring for her family and beloved pet schnauzers. She will be missed.
Florence is survived by three children, Madelyn (Dr. Kamel) Baladi of Los Angeles and their son, Jason; Dr. Gregory (Sue) Bozek of Coralville and their daughters, Heather (Mark), Jamie (Nate) and Stephani; and Mary (Alan) Mustion of Yukon, Okla.; and two great-grandchildren, Felise and Maxwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Stephen Michael; and one brother, Howard.
