Eye 380 grateful for contributions

We at Eye 380 would like to thank individuals and businesses who took the lead a year ago in providing financial support to construct retention walls as part of our new Interstate 380 plantings south of Wilson Avenue SW. The landscaping is complete and has received rave reviews. Now we are again asking for help to build landscaping near the 32nd Street NE interchange and to cover maintenance at all sites.
Eye 380 is a 5-year-old non-profit group that seeks to add habitat and landscape enhancement along I-380 in the metro area. Our first project was near Boyson Road in Hiawatha; the second at the Kirkwood/Route 30 southbound exit. We meet at 4 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month at Trees Forever in Marion. Details: www.eye380.org.
Among our new and continuing supporters for these projects are CRST International, Walmart Foundation, Dakota Red Corp., Dave Wright Nissan/Subaru, Randy Kuehl Honda, King's Materials and numerous individuals.
We see the interstate as our main street, a reflection of who we are. While we have developed a master plan, new landscaping will be added as support allows. We need help to do that.
We invite other companies and individuals to join this effort. It's one more way to demonstrate pride in our community. Donations to Eye 380 may be sent to Trees Forever, 770 Seventh Ave, Marion, IA 52302. Please feel free to attend our meetings and bring your ideas.
