Geiger, Shirley Rae
Shirley Rae Geiger, 58, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a long illness. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton. Per Shirley's wishes, she will be cremated following the visitation and inurnment will be held in the spring at the Brandon Cemetery.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 42 years, Terry Geiger of Vinton; her mother, Gladys Lectenberg of Cedar Falls; one son, Jeremy Geiger of Vinton; two daughters, Keri Sanders of Vinton and Jesse Geiger of Hiawatha; one brother, Roger Lectenberg of Hudson; two sisters, Ann Grogins of New Hampton and Rosie Zimmer of Conwell; four grandchildren, Lacey, Meranda, Sidney and Addison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial fund has been established.
Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Shirley and her family.
