Bean, Robert L.
Robert L. Bean, 57, of 936 11th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, in his home. Private graveside services will be held. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 11, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Ellen Bean and Bobby Bean, both of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Barb Hladek of Cedar Rapids, and Mary Sellers of Jacks Island, Ark.; brothers, Ron Bean and Craig Bean, both of Marion; nieces and nephews; his former wife and mother of his children, Cathi (Bean) Havel of Cedar Rapids; and his former in-laws, Frank and Carol Sopousek of Cedar Rapids.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary Bean and William Bean; sister, Jeri Ceynar; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Born Feb. 10, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Robert was the son of Herman and Florence (Gage) Bean. He worked as a car mechanic and detailer.
Robert was a humble and honest man whose joys were good food, fishing, car shows and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt.
A memorial fund has been established in Robert's memory.
