Carrie Hyatt Gaskins Harsh, 52, of Palo, died Friday, May 6, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Rich Harsh; daughters, Amanda Gaskins of Palo and Catiline (Rodney) Gaskins and Shannon (Omar) Gaskins, both of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Charles, Layla, Kaydee and Lilith; and brother, Arthur Hyatt Jr. of New Orleans.
She now lies in peace with her parents.
Carrie was born Nov. 14, 1963, the daughter of Arthur and Charlene (Green) Hyatt Sr., in New Orleans. She had worked as a paralegal. She married Frank Gaskins on Aug. 18, 1990. He died Dec. 13, 2013. On April 3, 2016, Carrie married Richard Harsh.
Carrie enjoyed music, gardening, taking drives, eating out, reading, watching TV and traveling. She also enjoyed dogs and horses.
Carrie was a "head strong" and happy person who liked to help others.
