Newman, Erma
SWISHER - Erma Newman, 88, of Swisher, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at Heritage Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Shueyville United Methodist Church, Shueyville. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Interment: 2 p.m. Monday at Urbana Cemetery, Urbana.
Erma was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Merle and Zynaga Lentz. She was a 1941 Roosevelt High graduate. Erma was employed at Great Plains Gas for over 30 years.
Survivors include stepson, Ronald (Dee) Newman, Zion, Ill.; two daughters, Denise (Bill) Kovaleski, Lake Nebagamon, Wis., and Deena (Rodney) Moyle, Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Virginia Golubiewski, Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Bill Newman.
A memorial fund has been established.
