Williams, David Harry
MARION - David Harry Williams, 72, of Marion, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, in his home. Private family inurnment: Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids, at a later date. Military honors by American Legion Post 298 of Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include a son, Douglas (Angela) Williams of Marion; and two grandchildren, Ethan and Mara.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris; his parents; and a brother, Bob Williams.
David was born July 18, 1938, the son of Ashley and Pearl (Oakley) Williams, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He married Deloris Schirm on May 26, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nev. She died March 9, 2009. David served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960 and worked as a prison guard for 27 years at the Anamosa Correctional Facility in Anamosa.
