Curb appeal lacking on city’s west side

Several years ago the voters of Linn County opted for a 1-cent option tax. The primary purpose was to rebuild the city streets.
As I drive around the west side of Cedar Rapids, I see a lot of sidewalks, street corners and curb construction. I watched a side of a mountain being removed to build a mega sidewalk and retaining wall on Kirkwood Boulevard. But as for street consideration on the west side, I see a patch here, a patch there, here a patch, there a patch, everywhere a patch, patch. What makes the situation look even worse is how dirty the curbs are. Curb appeal does say a lot and it sure is lacking on the city's west side.
