Adding signs would benefit drivers

If speed limit compliance is the goal on Interstate 380, and not revenue, then it's time to show greater effort and demonstrate that compliance is the true goal. Make it almost impossible for drivers to not realize that they must reduce their speed. It is suggested that the existing overhead message signs flash 'Speed Trap Ahead.” Add portable signs on the roadside that flash the same message. The cost to implement this, and quickly see the results, would be minimal.
When so many drivers are not getting/obeying the 'reduce speed” message there is a constant greater difference between the speed of 'speeders” and 'compliers.” That greater speed difference increases the number of lane changes that add risk and can cause accidents that the system is trying to prevent.
Questions about the revenue part of this equation also deserve answers. If the city doesn't totally own this 'speed casino,” it could further prove that revenue is not the goal by some sharing of it with the state and feds.
