Former truck driver pleads guilty to sex charges

A former truck driver faces at least ten years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty earlier today to transporting a minor across state lines in order to have unlawful sexual activity with her.

Brandin Hagen, 28, of Fredericksburg, was arrested by the Chickasaw County Sheriff in January and was charged with four counts of sex with a minor. He was later charged with federal charges after investigators discovered he had taken a minor to Bonner Springs, Kansas, for the sake of sexual acts.

Judge Jon Scoles accepted Hagen's plea at the Federal Courthouse in Cedar Rapids and Hagen will await sentencing in the custody of U.S. Marshals.

Such a charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years but could result in life imprisonment with no parole.
