Lynnice Dawn Wedewer, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital.
A small Celebration of Life ceremony will be Sunday, Nov. 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. at La Quinta Inn & Suites, 1220 Park Pl NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
Surviving are her children, Amberlynn Hadrava and Jamie Wedewer; and a brother, Joe Dean (Elena) Hartgrave.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pearl (Beenken) Hartgrave; and brothers, Jaime and Darwin Hartgrave.
Lynnice was born Dec. 18, 1962, in Eastern Iowa. She gratuated from Jefferson High School, where she was involved in choir, theater and other extracurricular activities. She went on to Kirkwood Community College and other online institutions of learning, where she obtained numerous degrees. She worked in religion and education for most of her life, and spent 15 years working in the autism community as U.S. autism ambassador. She also was considered a leader in the advocacy for medical cannabis in the state of Iowa.
In addition to being a patron for her various causes, she also was a loving mother to her two girls and enjoyed time with friends and family singing, dancing and spending time in nature.
